Job Description / Desired Qualifications: Role Summary
The Scrum Master is a servant leader, delivery-focused Agile coach responsible for helping teams consistently deliver value.
This role emphasizes coaching, execution, and collaboration, ensuring Agile teams are effective, predictable, and aligned with delivery commitments.
Strong Jira expertise is essential to enable transparency, planning, and delivery tracking.
Key Responsibilities
Partner closely with Project Managers to align sprint execution with delivery milestones, dependencies, and commitments.
Support delivery planning, forecasting, and risk identification while reinforcing Agile principles.
Provide clear visibility into progress, risks, and impediments using Jira dashboards and delivery metrics.
Help teams balance flow, quality, and predictability to meet delivery goals.
Coaching & Team Enablement:
Coach teams in self management, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Guide Product Owners, Project Managers, and stakeholders on Agile practices that support reliable delivery.
Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and outcome focused execution.
Scrum Facilitation:
Facilitate effective Scrum events that drive planning clarity, execution alignment, and inspect and adapt learning.
Lead retrospectives that result in measurable delivery and process improvements.
Identify and help remove delivery impacting impediments at both team and organizational levels.
Jira Ownership & Metrics:
Serve as the Jira expert, ensuring boards, workflows, and backlogs support delivery tracking and transparency.
Coach teams on backlog readiness, sprint execution, and dependency visibility in Jira.
Use metrics to support delivery conversations and continuous improvement, not performance scoring.
Qualifications:
5+ years’ experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Team Coach with a strong delivery mindset.
Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with Project Managers.
Strong understanding of Scrum and Agile delivery practices.
Hands on Jira expertise, including boards, workflows, and reporting.
Excellent facilitation, communication, and influence skills.
Required Driving will be less than 10% for potential meeting or planning event outside of their assigned office.
Tentative Schedule (Subject to change): Currently alternate 3 and 2 days in the office. So for now it is hybrid, but may change in the future.
