Job Description:
A Lighting Sales Representative with 5 to 10 years of experience is responsible for promoting and selling lighting products and solutions to clients, businesses, and organizations.
They are a seasoned professional who excels in building client relationships and meeting sales goals.
Their expertise in lighting products and solutions is instrumental in helping clients make informed decisions to improve their lighting systems.
This role involves building and maintaining client relationships, providing expertise on lighting products, and meeting sales targets.
This position is responsible for supporting sales across the state by assisting with customer satisfaction, pricing and contracting, engineering and back office support for Residential customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Meeting with Residential customers that desire to have a LED light installed and placed on their bill
Designing the plan for light installation, including but not limited to placement of light, pole, wiring and other facilities
Work in our JETS program to estimate and order material
Preparing lighting agreement within LAMP
Assist in the interaction between sales, operations, materials, and maintenance to ensure customer satisfaction
Respond to customer requests for outdoor lighting

Client Engagement: Identify potential clients and establish relationships with existing customers. Act as a point of contact for inquiries, concerns, and orders related to lighting products.
Product Knowledge: Maintain an in-depth understanding of various lighting products, including LED lighting, fixtures, controls, and energy-efficient solutions. Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies.
Consultative Sales: Understand clients’ needs and objectives and offer tailored lighting solutions that align with their goals, energy efficiency requirements, and budget constraints.
Sales Presentations: Create and deliver compelling sales presentations that highlight the features and benefits of lighting products. Explain technical details in a clear and concise manner.
Quoting and Proposals:
Prepare accurate quotes and proposals, including pricing, product specifications, and estimated project timelines.
Negotiation: Negotiate terms and pricing with clients to secure orders and close sales deals.
Order Processing: Coordinate the order processing, delivery, and installation of lighting products with the clients and the internal teams.
Market Research: Continuously analyze market trends, competitors, and customer preferences to identify new business opportunities.
Sales Targets: Work towards and achieve or exceed sales targets and revenue goals. Networking: Attend industry events, trade shows, and conferences to expand the network and seek potential leads.
Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients, fostering trust and loyalty.
Reporting: Provide regular reports on sales activities, market insights, and progress toward sales targets.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field is preferred.
5 to 10 years of experience in lighting sales or a similar role, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Experience in the Customer Service Organization or Power Delivery is preferred.
Demonstrated sales skills, account management, ally development, and experience with or knowledge of outdoor lighting products, rates, and contracts.
Excellent communication skills- written, oral, and interpersonal for researching customer data and creating detailed analysis and sales proposals.
Possess an understanding of the company’s operations, policies and procedures.
Ability to manage multiple projects and work with multiple stakeholders simultaneously.
Good organizational and computer skills.
Self-starter and able to work in both an individual and team setting.
Ethical conduct and a commitment to compliance.
Ability to build internal and external relationships.
Strong knowledge of lighting products, energy-efficient solutions, and industry trends.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to understand technical details and convey them in a customer-friendly manner. Negotiation and presentation skills.
Self-motivated, results-oriented, and a team player.
Proficiency in customer relationship management (CRM) software is a plus. Willingness to travel and attend industry events.
