Infrastructure Security Automation Engineer

Immediate W2 contract position available in Atlanta, GA (Hybrid).

Job Summary:
The Infrastructure Security Automation Engineer supports the Infrastructure Security & Compliance (ISAC) organization by developing automation, scripting, and integration solutions that improve the speed, efficiency, consistency, and scalability of ISAC-owned functions, including vulnerability remediation, patch management, infrastructure hardening, compliance monitoring, and operational reporting. In addition to direct development, this individual contributor role provides technical guidance, review, and direction for automation efforts across ISAC teams and vendors to promote alignment with enterprise standards, preferred tools, integration patterns, and best practices. The Infrastructure Security Automation Engineer partners with ISAC leadership, Cyber Security, Infrastructure Services teams, Infrastructure Tools and Process Automation, Infrastructure Data & Reporting Management, and other stakeholders to identify automation opportunities, integrate ISAC tools and data sources, and deliver reusable, maintainable automation aligned with Infrastructure Services automation standards, coding conventions, source control practices, and infrastructure as code direction established by the Infrastructure Tools and Process Automation team. This role supports the broader ISAC mission by enabling repeatable, scalable, and measurable automation that accelerates remediation and improves operational effectiveness.

Job Requirements:

• BS/BA in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, MIS, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
• Minimum 3 years of experience in infrastructure automation, scripting, DevOps, infrastructure operations, cybersecurity engineering, or related technology disciplines
• Strong experience with scripting, automation, and integration technologies such as PowerShell, Python, Bash, YAML, REST APIs, Ansible, Ansible Automation Platform, or equivalent enterprise automation tooling
• Experience with source control systems such as Git, GitHub, or Azure DevOps, including branching, pull requests, code review practices, and repository standards
• Familiarity with enterprise patch management, vulnerability management, and security tooling such as Ivanti Security Controls, SCCM, WSUS, Red Hat Satellite, vulnerability scanners, and related infrastructure security tools
• Working knowledge of Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, enterprise network infrastructure, telecommunications infrastructure, Cisco platforms, and related enterprise infrastructure technologies
• Understanding of vulnerability management, patch management, remediation workflows, infrastructure hardening, security compliance, and operational reporting concepts
• Ability to integrate data and workflows across infrastructure, security, ticketing, asset management, vulnerability management, and reporting platforms through APIs and automation
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, well-documented automation aligned with established coding, source control, repository, and documentation standards
• Ability to guide, review, and advise on automation efforts developed by peers and vendors across ISAC teams
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, communication, documentation, prioritization, and delivery skills

Major Job Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain automation, scripting, and integration solutions that improve the speed, efficiency, and consistency of ISAC-owned functions, including vulnerability remediation, patch management, infrastructure hardening, compliance monitoring, and operational reporting
• Deliver automation that accelerates remediation timelines, reduces mean time to remediate, and helps ISAC meet or exceed vulnerability service level expectations
• Provide technical guidance, review, mentoring, and direction for automation developed by ISAC teams and third parties to promote alignment with enterprise standards, preferred tools, integration patterns, code quality, maintainability, reusability, and consistency
• Develop scripts, workflows, playbooks, and integrations using PowerShell, Python, Bash, Ansible, REST APIs, and other enterprise-approved automation technologies
• Integrate ISAC tools, data sources, and workflows with infrastructure, security, ticketing, asset management, vulnerability management, and reporting platforms, including automated data collection and transformation in coordination with the Infrastructure Security Reporting Analyst
• Support automation of patch deployment, remediation validation, exception handling, compliance reporting, and hardening activities across servers, network, and telecommunications infrastructure
• Align ISAC automation with Infrastructure Services automation standards, coding conventions, source control practices, and infrastructure as code direction, contributing to shared libraries and reusable modules where appropriate
• Partner with ISAC leadership, Cyber Security, Infrastructure Services teams, Infrastructure Tools and Process Automation, Infrastructure Data & Reporting Management, and stakeholders to identify automation opportunities and prioritize development efforts
• Maintain automation documentation, source control repositories, version history, and reusable modules that support maintainability and knowledge sharing across ISAC
• Test, validate, troubleshoot, and continuously improve automation solutions to ensure accuracy, reliability, and alignment with operational and security requirements
• Monitor emerging automation, scripting, orchestration, and AI-enabled tooling that may improve remediation speed and ISAC operational efficiency
• Support departmental, Infrastructure Services, and enterprise initiatives that expand automation adoption, accelerate remediation, and reduce operational risk
