Job Description / Desired Qualifications:

  • A Project Controls Specialist with 5 to 10 years of experience is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on various project aspects, such as cost, schedule, and performance.
  • They play a critical role in ensuring that projects stay on track and meet their objectives within established parameters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement project control strategies and procedures.
  • Monitor project schedules, costs, and resource allocation to ensure adherence to project plans.
  • Analyze project data to identify potential risks and opportunities for performance improvement.
  • Collaborate with project managers to develop mitigation plans for identified risks.
  • Prepare comprehensive project control reports for senior management and stakeholders.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior project control team members.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of project controls methodologies, including cost estimating, scheduling, and risk analysis. Experience with advanced project management software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar tools.
  • Ability to develop and implement project controls strategies, analyze project data, and provide actionable insights to project teams.

Scope of Work:

  • Proficient in Schedule, Cost & Estimating Techniques. Will be responsible to prepare monthly project status reports and manage Project Schedule.
  • Desired candidate is willing to assist in a Research and Development environment and willing to adapt and learn new tools and systems.
  • Position will require on-site training for a minimum of 2 months on a complex government project that handles multiple partners.
  • High visibility project and will require a seasoned professional who could learn and adapt with the current lead project controls staff.
  • Assignment Schedule:8am-5pm, 4 days onsite and 1 day remote.
