Immediate W2 contract position available in Brunswick, GA Estimated Duration:9 months
Desired Qualifications:
An Assistant Storekeeper with 0-5 years of experience is typically in an entry-level or junior position, assisting with various materials support activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Loading & unloading of materials.
Assisting internal customers with materials.
Materials yard & storeroom housekeeping.
Other tasks as directed by Senior Storekeeper.
Certifications:
Certified Forklift Operations
Daily Primary Duties:
Load/unload materials for GPC & contractor crews.
Assist Sr. Storekeepers with putting away materials.
Housekeeping
Daily Housekeeping Duties:
Check & dump cardboard hoppers/containers if needed.
Clean loading dock area, including lower section where trucks back in.
Make sure cardboard crusher is operated and not overflowing. Notify Sr. Storekeepers is full & needs roll-off swapped out.
Walk down minor materials area & sweep/pick up any trash.
Make sure minor materials area and aisles are free of trash and any clutter.
Walk down warehouse aisles and pick up and dispose of empty boxes, loose banding materials, other trash.
Walk down or ride forklift around yard to check for empty pallets, large pieces of trash (plastic wrap, wire pieces, wood chunks, etc.) and dispose of properly.
Check trash & scrap roll-offs for fullness & notify Senior Storekeeper if full or close to full.
Check for & band/prepare any materials that are staged for outgoing shipments.
Check trash can at back counter – if full, swap out with empty trash can from near storekeeper offices.
AAA Cooper (MDC) Truck Days – Wednesdays & Fridays:
Unload & load materials from/to trucks.
After materials put away, sweep floors, and make sure aisles are clear of clutter & trash.
Forklift Safety:
Properly inspect forklifts daily.
Always wear seatbelt/safety harness.
Always travel with forks close to ground but no ON the ground.
No phone use, handsfree or otherwise while operating forklift.
Keep appendages inside the cab while operating.
Situational awareness at all times.
Slow down! Watch speed on yard & while loading & unloading. Obey traffic rules.
Use horn entering & exiting warehouse.
Keep a clear view of your path.
Use the mirrors.
Always wear proper PPE for the job you’re performing.
Gloves & safety glass when banding transformers.
