Immediate W2 contract position available in Birmingham, AL (Hybrid Available) Estimated Duration: 3 Years
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Input, processing, and maintenance of Company Distribution Lines and Equipment assets in an ESRI GIS database.
SCHEDULE:
Flexible to work 40 hours per week, M-F, in an office environment in Birmingham, Alabama.
Shifts may be 8 or 10 hours per day, starting as early as 7am and ending as late as 5pm.
Following an estimated training period of ~3 months in Birmingham, AL (duration may vary by individual), the role may transition to primarily remote work, with occasional in-office requirements for meetings, training, or other business needs. Remote work requires stable broadband Internet connection of 20mb/s or capable of supporting remote desktop connections over VPN and is responsibility of worker, if remote work is offered in the future.
SKILLSETS & EXPERTISE:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree preferred (Geography, GIS, or similar field), GIS Certificate, or at least 2 years of full-time GIS work experience is required.
Power Distribution knowledge is a plus.
Experience with ESRI ArcGIS software required; experience with ESRI ArcGIS Pro software is a plus.
Competency with standard computer software, to include Microsoft Office suite is required.
Ability to work in a team environment is required.
Experience with CAD (Computer Aided Drafting) is a plus.
Only candidates currently residing in the greater Birmingham Metro area will be considered. Those willing to relocate will not be eligible. Candidates must live within a 50-mile commuting distance to the Birmingham office as per diem will not be provided for any on-site requirements.
