Immediate W2 contract position available in Birmingham, AL.
Estimated Duration: 3 years

Job Description / Desired Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience Serve as the liaison between customer and support services functional providers, including graphic design, typing and document processing support, editing, proofing, quality control support, CD production, printing services, and vendors.
  • Understand Company’s processes, products, and services to proactively address customer needs.
  • Familiarity with engineering terminology preferred.
  • Oversee and coordinate work performed.
  • Ensure completion in a timely and cost-efficient manner to meet customer needs.
  • Communicate project status with client and adjust workload and/or request resources according to client needs.
  • Review, edit, proof, and coordinate production of publications in accordance with applicable standards.
  • Create, maintain, and update user manuals, technical manuals, online help systems, training materials, and other technical documents.
  • Publication production includes ensuring the accuracy and legibility of all published material (paper and electronic), adherence to Company Standards and applicable style guides, and correct assembly and print quality of all printed material.
  • Editing, which includes the following: Collaborating on the planning, design, development, and deployment of new publications (printed reports and/or Web sites) and revisions to existing publications; Compiling input from multiple sources and provide suggestions and guidance on document cohesion and consistency; Providing research, writing, document consultation, and development/design services to clients.
  • Oversee various E&CS communication platforms, including web, Watts Up, survey utility, and some SharePoint sites.
  • Compile/produce reports; tabulate and analyze survey data.
  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand product details and requirements.
  • Research, write, edit, and proofread technical data to produce clear and concise documentation for technical and non-technical users.
Additional notes for the position:
  • Years of experience is flexible and not confined to 10+
  • Experience in writing and putting together a newsletter highly sought out
  • Being able to convey technical material in a concise understandable manner
  • Working with Subject Matter Experts to ensure accuracy of communication and the details within
  • Being highly organized and able to plan ahead is especially needed
  • Candidate that has creativity, brainstorming capabilities, and graphics work is ideal (basically a mix of technical and creative)
  • Would like to see a sample of their work
  • Must be a team player and willing to write as well as assist with other projects
