E Group Named #3 on Fastest Growing Emerging Companies List.
Holley Ellis says there is a joke among employees at E Group Engineering Services that "you spend half your life praying for success and the other half praying it won't go away."
So far, their prayers have been answered.
Annual revenue for The E Group - a Birmingham-based consulting firm - jumped 122 percent last year to nearly $6.7 million. That growth has led to a similar increase in staff to 116 today from 50 in 2004 and only four in 2002.
"We have been lucky enough to experience strong growth each year since we began six years ago," says Ellis, the company's founder. "The secret to our success has truly been due to the loyalty of our consultants. They have, time and time again, pleased our clients with their technical abilities and pleased us with many, many referrals."
The E Group helps provide qualified personnel to corporations in the engineering industry across the United States.
"In our business, the dream is to have a job for every talented person who walks in the door," Ellis says. She calls 2005 "a wonderful year, because our clients had a consistent stream of projects that enabled us to do just that. "And 2006 looks just as promising," she adds. "We've seen a huge increase in nuclear hiring, while hiring on the fossil side has remained consistent... We hope to be lucky enough to double in size again in 2006."
